Mama Got a New Pair of Shoes

River Run Club Shoe Winner!

New shoes bring new hope

People often ask why did you and Tara Hill start River Run Club? There a lot of great run clubs in the Triangle (which will be another post) but none were convenient in location or time for us. So  in May 2012, we started our own in North Raleigh, River Run Club.

The more interesting question is why keep doing it when marketing efforts are virtually ignored, there is no  budget and intentions are not to earn money but simply to have a cool running club to hang out with.

The awesome Mizunos pictured above tell part of the story. The owner of the feet inside these Mizunos joined the club as soon as it started. She endured several bumps in her road namely a foot that’s been broken twice since starting to run in May. Running has been really important to her and she has made new friends. Recently she ran in to some bad luck and found running a way to cope with life.

Last week she attended a local running shop, Capital Run Walk for a Team in Training information session and won the Mizunos. She even received a personalized  fitting and gait analysis by the talented Bobby Mack.  When I saw her the next night at run club, she had a glow of hope on her face  and that’s why I’ll keep plugging away on River Run Club. Eventually, something hits.
